Hi, I’m Rachel, and this is the story of the person behind Patch. I live in Davenham, a small Cheshire village, with my husband (Neil), two children (Jake and Isla) and a hamster (Nugget).
Dream come true
Patch is my dream come true. I’m able to combine my love of sewing (which I learned from my late Mum as a child), with my passion for memories and how the mind works (picked up from my biology degree).
My past life
Life’s rich tapestry (if you’ll excuse the pun) means that over the years I have studied biology, geography, marketing and interior design. In my life before Patch I’ve worked for two national charities (The Woodland Trust and The Royal National Institute for Deaf People), a medical publisher, and with social enterprises in Manchester and Cheshire.
I also have a certain wanderlust and have travelled in South America, Australia and Europe. Now that our children are old enough we hope to travel more with them, on mini weekend breaks and longer ‘ed-ventures’.
All of these experiences have made me passionate about memories, textiles and high quality workmanship, which I bring to Patch in abundance. As Patch has developed I’ve gained new skills and ideas, which makes the work I do so enjoyable.
I hope you enjoy browsing my unique products, and love them as much as I love making them. If you have any questions please get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org.
