Do you dream about leaving a high quality, highly personal, family heirloom? Have you got a drawer or cupboard full of clothes with special memories? Perhaps from when your child was young, a special holiday, or your wedding? Why not let me make them into a quilt so that you can enjoy those memories everyday, and create a family heirloom for generations to come?
Photo and memories panel
Patch Memory Quilts include an A4 photo panel with up to 10 photos, family names, memories, or a poem or verse. Further photo or memory panels can be added at £10 per panel (A4 size).
Backing, filling and finishing your memory quilt
Depending on the material you use on the front of your quilt, it can be finished in one of two ways:
- Traditional patchwork quilts – created from cotton fabrics. The patchwork is layered with soft, snuggly, premium cotton wadding (filling) and backed with a 100% pure cotton backing – we will discuss colours and patterns when looking at the clothes. I complete your quilt with machine quilting to enhance the patchwork, and hold the layers securely together. The quilt is then finished with a secure machine stitched binding.
- Modern patchwork quilts – created from fleece or other fabrics (see pictures). The patchwork is backed with fleece in your choice of colour and pattern. Your quilt is then finished with a sewn edge and quilted with machine quilting (sewing between each patch) to enhance the patchwork and hold the back and front securely together.
